I live in the Frederick area and i dont know where ur at but i took mine to a place called Dutrow's they specialize in Honda's and they did it for $40 no problem.  Passed with flying colors and mine is a 91F2.

thanks for the heads-up about Dutrow's. This thread and the good work by the guys in the service dept. saved me alot of trouble.

Is it sound levels your worried about, I dont think there is any smog requirements for bikes in MD, pull your can off and stick a loose ball of steel wool in the pipe, bend a u shape in to a piece of coat hanger and cut the edges sharp, stick the u in facing away from you, then put the can back on it should hold  long enough for the inspection , then yank it out.

I live in caroline county on the shore,we dont have yearly smog for our cars either, once in the life of your registration is all. so dont now if bikes are different cross the bridge.

commuting on a VLX600 shadow for now, 60MPG!!! I punched out the baffles, so it has that V-twin snap and crackle that made H/D so infamous. Except this little scute is rice powered!!lol

and once in a while a 98 gold wing, its a scarey fast 2 wheeled yacht!!

I notice this thread is almost two years old. Does anyone know if Dutrows is still doing this? Or do you know of any other place in MD that does? I need my bike passed and Frederick is at least an hour away from me. I would rather know they'll pass it before I make that ride up there.

basicly, they check brakes, turn signals ( also dot size),horn, see if your leaking any fluids or exhaust and decibal level, and tire condition.so the major stuff you can sort out your self.  Also most places give you a time frame to fix failing items and come back to be rechecked (at least they do on the shore).
