    help

ok so long story short, i dropped my bike.  i later noticed that the headlight wasnt working.  i found that the roblem was there was a break in a wire inside the kill switch.  makes sense because i dropped it on the right side. (could be a coincidence)

so i fixed that problem but i have a new problem...my battery isnt charging.  before i replace the alternator i was wondering if anyone could think of something else it might be (i replaced the battery)

    Re: help

check ur charging system, check voltage on battery while its running. u should get morte than 14vdc. if not have your alternator or rectifier checked.

    Re: help

go to tutorials and search for how to diagnose the charging system...that should tell you what your problem is.

    Re: help

Take the battery to an automotive shop and have it "Load Tested".  Depending on how hard the bike hit the ground, you could have broke one or more of the lead plates off and is laying against another plate in the battery.  You will have reduced voltage capacity due to this.

Most auto shops will test it for free.
