do we have an engine oil screen

I know other bikes have screens in their engine to catch debree/stuff in the engine oil.  Somtimes its near the dip stick, other times its elsewhere.  do we have ones on our f3s?

It's in the oil pan, just under the oil pump.

I see, its the oil strainer in the good book.

Much appreciated.  Does Honda say how often we should be cleaning ours?

You should never need to clean the screen.

The oil filter, on the other hand, should be replaced at every oil change.

Shouldn't need to clean it.A regular oil change should remove anything that might be in the oil pan.
I've never cleaned mine and I've got a many miles on my bike.

Ok, a buddy of mine tore down his ninja, albiet a early 90's ninja and he said his screen looked like a coffee strainer.  He said it was just filthy.  Ill hold off on cleaning it,  at least untill the next oil change, couldnt hurt to take off the pan clean up in there and replace the gasket.  Thanks guys.

I suppose if the bike was really neglected, oil never changed, sat for years, had mice living in it, etc, it might need to be cleaned.

A bike that is ridden/maintained shouldn't need it on any regular sort of basis.
