    Dyno Tuning

i plan to have my bike dyno tuned and mapped soon. does anybody have any experience with this? my friend knows a place that does great work but he told me they charge about $250 for tuning and mapping. is this a decent price for dyno tuning? i'm still going to shop around and see what others are charging.

also, i only have a devil bike slip-on and a pc3 with the stock air filter. should i install a K&N air filter when i get my bike tuned?

    Re: Dyno Tuning

I've personally heard that the K&N filter for the F4i actually hurts the performance, so I wouldn't strongly recommend using it. I think that if you're looking for more power, you'd be better off spending the money on a new set of sprockets.

That price seems a bit high to me. I would shop around.

A K&N couldn't hurt, IMHO. I like the functionality that it is re-usable and pays for itself after 2 uses.

Make sure the tuning shop can measure your Air/Fuel ratio, if it can't then walk away. It is the Air/Fuel ratio that you are interested in, not some ego boosting (BS) HP claim.

its about 200-250 out in Michigan too. Could you do us all a favor and do a run with the stock filter and the K&N to put the issue to rest.

    Re: Dyno Tuning

flip, i just might do that if i'm spending this much for a dyno tune.

i'm not really concerned about how much hp my f4i actually makes. i really want them to try to get rid of a flat spot i have on my bike and to just smoothen out the throttle some more so there is an even amount of power throughout the entire power band.

a local rider told me erion racing is located just a couple miles from my work. he spent about $3000 on upgrades for his 954RR and he said they did an amazing job with it. he told me they're not cheap, but they do excellent work.

i'm going to give them a call and see what they can do for me. i know it won't be cheap but hey, if they work on kurtis robert and jake zemke's machines, they can't be bad.

    Supra,

You know that Erion has a good base line map for that motor too. even though they havent raced the F4i since the RR came out last year but im sure they have some good info on it.

If you go and get your dyno tuning done, post all your dyno charts if you dont mind
