    F4i dogbone link

Is anybody using the F4i shock also using the the F4i dogbone/ lower link as well?

I have read that it reduces the height increase that the F4i shock casues.

Is this true? Any other pros/cons?

I have the blackbird lowering link on my F2, could help with that but not sure of the F4i - maybe post in the F4 area, you might find someone.

the purpose would be to replace a worn out shock with one with only 5K miles on it.

I thought i had read somewhere that the F4i shock raises the rear about 1 inch. And, that if you use the F4i shock with the f4i dogbone it only raises the rear about 1/2 inch.

    Re: F4i dogbone link

ok that makes more sense now.  the f4i shock raised my rear more like 1.5 inches.  It bolts right up, so theres prob a chance that the f4i dogbone will work.  you might consider getting an adjustable dogbone for the f2 then just lowering the bike to compensate for the added ride height of the f4i shock.

    Re: F4i dogbone link

yeah i have thought about getting a adjustable lowering link, but i thought i might try to stick with some OEM parts if i could.

I do several track days a year, so i don't dislike the more aggressive position. But I am only 5'9" and I like to be able to touch the ground flat on both sides.

Do you like the way the bike rides with the shock, i have read of alot of people moving back to stock after doing this mod.

    Re: F4i dogbone link

I'm 5'11'' so i dont have a problem touching the ground esp not with my boots on.  I love the way it feels, i think some people dislike it because it puts more wieght on your wrists and dives into turns.  I just taught myself to squeeze more with my legs, which is a good habit anyway.  If your unsure of the mod, put the shock in and try it for a little while and if you don't like it, then work on the dogbone issue.  The shock bolts right up, the only thing you should mod if you decide to keep the shock is to add some material to the bottom of the side stand.

    Re: F4i dogbone link

I just got an F4i shock, but didn't install it yet.I have the f4i shock and 2  f4i plates that go between the shock and the dogbone. I would like to keep the rear height as close to possible to the stock. Anybody installed f4i dogbone with f4i shock? Do I need f4i dogbone or just the plates with shock and f2 bone would do?
