ok, i think i am seriously warming up to the new 1krr, looks really nice, ide love to read about the specs now... looks it gets a two thumbs up from me.

its weired i did not like it in the original pictures, but it actually looks class now. by the way, what was the redline on the 07? this redline looks awefully low, starts at 12k?

i dont know, might be typical in the 1 liter world, im use to my 600cc.

thanks for sharing the information mario :-)

Honda is really moving into the future the changed their turn signal that they used for 20 something years.  That 1000 is sweet I hope I can take one for a ride next summer.

no thanks i'll stick to my 06 lk rr! it looks like they didnt even finish putting it together! ( the black one) it looks incomplete for some reason. the 06 and older to me just looks way better. i love the new dash layout though! but when i look at the front i see a suzuki sv model!

I agree. I'm gonna stick with my Blue/Yellow 06 1000rr. This just isn't growing on me...Its like someone built a custom bike with the back end looking like a yamaha, suzuki exhaust, kawi front fairing, oh yea and a yamaha tank....

I am starting to warm up to it. These pictures make it look much better. I will still have to wait to see it in person before I make any final decision.

Oh and 12k rpm redline is typical of a liter bike. Our big boys don't need 17k rpm to make power.

The looks don't particularly catch my attention either, but...

Take a look, for instance, at the picture of the black one above. Think track time. Now, look at the image again and remove the mirrors, then remove the rear fender, replace the exhaust (and its lower black exhaust cover) with an aftermarket one by Arrow, for instance:

Yes, that is what I mean, it's tight ! Smile

i wonder what the tenkate 1krr will look like.

one thing i've always hated about hondas is that to get an aftermarket case cover, you'd be lucky to find someone who makes that  in 1 pc. and even then, some have admitted with the 600rr that's it's hella expensive to manufacture, hence no one makes it.

Okay that does it, when I move back home and settle down and do the job thing again im getting one of those 1k's.

Still dont like the 600 look, but the new fireblade looks awesome. It seems to have assimilated the best features of the new ducati... luv it!!!

The Blue/Yellow '06 was one of the best color schemes. It replaced my previous favorite of Grey/Black when it came out. These new bikes just don't look inspired to me. Maybe I need to see one in person, but the colors in the Honda Gallery just don't motivate me at all. I do like the turn-signals mounted in the mirrors. But it's bitter/sweet for me. As many times as I knocked off my '01's mirrors, I'd hate to see what the cost to repair is.

    Have a nice day!

Re: 2008 CBR 1000 RR and 2008 CBR 600 RR Ten Kate models (constant updates)

The more I look at this bike, the more I like it.  I do have a very small problem liking the shape of the fairing right behind the front wheel and how it angles slightly back at the bottom instead of forward like the older 1000RR and other bikes.  It just looks a little wrong there to me.  Not enough that I wouldn't want one, though.  In fact, the only thing that makes me not want one is I'm not at all impressed with the color choices for 2008.  Everyone usually has red around here and I like to be different.  The other color choices just don't do it for me at all.

My plan is to keep my F4i another year or two, then trade or sell and step up to a liter bike.  Whether this happens in a year or in two years depends on how well I like the color choices available on the 2009 or 2010 models.

I'm also curious to see what the aftermarket does with exhausts.  The dual outlet muffler has a valve that adjusts flow between the smaller and larger outlets to improve power according to the RPM you're running.  I wonder if the aftermarket will produce exhausts that use that technology or if they'll just use their usual straight through cans that will more than likely kill some of the bikes lower RPM power.

saw it at the show. it's ok. but a couple of things that didn't seem to be right. the exhaust and cover (seems not integrated with lower fairing) seem like a knock off on the taylor made side exhuast for the gixxer 1k. that extended part of the bodywork seems fake'ish.

they should've streamlined the tail a little more. the tail light looks so old honda even though it'll be LEDs underneath. looks pretty cheap compared to the r6's, gixxers, etc. tail light. and that plastic mold underneath the tail gives it an appearance of an exhuast. i think a motogp type tail would've been better...
