    Aftermarket Wheels 2006 CBR 600RR

Is there any place on the internet that has aftermarket light weight wheels for a 2006 CBR RR Like CARROZZERIA, MARCHESINI, At discounted prices or used ones.  And will the wheels off a 1000RR fit on it.  I can find wheel for all the 1000's made but very few for 600's.  If anyone knows anything let me know thanks in adavance.

Lockhart Phillips sells Marchesini's for the 600RR.  looks like u can get 16.5s in MAG for about $3k and 17s in forged AL for about $2k.  i wouldnt be surprised if u could get 17" MAGs, they just arent in the online catalog.  but ya, the cool thing about LP is that if u have a racing license, u can apply for their privateer sponsorship and actually get everything at much closer to wholesale prices.  oh, and id check Motostrano, too.

Does anyone know the weight of the stock wheels on a 2006 CBR 600RR.   And will the wheels off a 1000 work on it.  They seem easier to find....

only thing about the 1000rr in a 600rr is the width of the rim. usually, the 1k's are a little wider.

motomummy.com would be another place to check out for rims. i have carrozzerias. i like 'em. Smile

Re: Aftermarket Wheels 2006 CBR 600RR

Personally I'd go with the Carrozzeria....mainly because I own a set...but also because they are the lightest of the Aluminum wheels. I even weighed my wheels with two different postage scales to make sure I received an accurate readout.

    Front:
         First scale:          7.66 lbs
         Second scale:     7.70 lbs

    Rear:
        First scale:          13.9 lbs
        Second scale:     13.9 lbs

If your going Magnesium then I'd go with the PVM Forged Mags because those are the lightest of the mag wheels.

    Front reported:     7 lbs
    Rear reported:      12 lbs

As for finding deals on these wheels that is pretty difficult. usually around Christmast time prices are pretty low because it is the winter season and this is usually when motorcycle sales are down but parts sales are up (people modifying) so vendors are more likely to give out discounts. Usually you can find discounts from November to March but finding wheels is really hard. I don't know if this site does group buy discounts but I do know of another site that does (thats how I got my CZ for 1325 shipped). Just pm me and I'll let you know the site.

if you want to go magnesium, racers usually sell them after a couple/few years. don't magnesium wheels have a shelf life? i thought that's what i remember about them.

Aluminum would be a better route, I think.
