What To Do if Bike Breaks Down?

Call me paranoid, a planner or both. But what would you do if your bike broke down while out on the road somewhere? Meaning do you call AAA or your insurance company for help?

I know a Honda breaking down may be an oxymoron, but I'm just such a moron.

    Appreciate your replies.

At the very least, have a cell phone with you.

Since I have a trailer, I can always call someone to pick me up and drop me off at home so I can get my trailer and retrieve my bike.

If you don't have a trailer, then call a friend who is capable of picking you and the bike up (that means they have a trailer, van, or pickup).

If you don't have a person you can call, then you can subscribe to a towing plan.  HRCA has some kind of roadside assistance option.  There may be other companies too.

+1 on cell and make sure to put ICE number in there as well.
I have AAA (make sure your area / plan covers motorcycles).
Insurance varies, you need to check to see if yours covers towing.
I have overlap coverages but I mainly rely on AAA, I think some of my credit cards / insurance covers towing as well.

    Thanks, guys.

Cell is ALWAYS on me & charged - definitely a must. That Honda club does not offer roadside assistance anymore, but I'll next check with my insurance company. Have a friend with a trailer, but that would suck to have to inconvenience someone else (but I will if need be). Wish there was a portable trailer my wife could just throw in the back of our SUV and come get me.

    Thanks again for your feedback.

bikes are pretty ez to push, as long as there r no uphills involved Big Smile pushing a bike 2miles in summer heat is a good workout to say the least

be wary of standard auto towtruck drivers, as most dont kno how to handle a motorcycle in the same fashion u would w/ your own bike.  ive seen more than a few sportbikes laying down on a flatbed trailers, bouncing around and getting scratched w/ every bump on the road.
