How accurate is the speedo on F4i

Just came off a SV650S. The speedo on those bikes are around 10% off. 70 indicated is actually 63. Just wondering how accurate the speedo is on my 06' F4i.

      Thanks, Hardrock69

its not.  the accuracy is all dependent on wat rear tire u r running, how worn that tire is, and whether or not uve made any gearing changes.  so sry, i cant just give u a number.  however, its very ez to test.  go find some mile markers on the freeway, take a stop watch, and time yourself at a constant speed.  or maybe u can find a police radar stand sitting around, though the error at 45mph is usually a bit less than at 65mph.

Just trying to get an average %. My bike is stock gearing, only 1400 miles, so tires are still pretty new. Are they as off as the SV was?

Please introduce yourself in the New Members section.  No one can tell you what it is.  Every bike has a stock speedo error and it'll be different for every bike (even if its the same year and model).

All I can say is that when I pass one of those sherif speed detectors before turns that tell you that you are going to fast and to slow down, it reads 52-53 as I show 55mph. but as above mentionded, no two bikes are identical (mine sounds similar to yours, completly stock, 1800 miles)

u could try a gps too, but again, will probably be off a little, run the gps on one bike, then try it on ur bike.
