Is a rear tire-hugger necessary with an undertail on an f4i??

Hey guys. Ok i was going back and forth between fender eliminator/undertail for my 05 f4i and i finally decided on the undertail.  I LOVE this look and i like even more not having to worry about my signals since, from what i've seen, they are integrated into the undertail.

Now My main concern is some people have said without a rear tire-hugger, it will get chipped all to hell. Is this true? and does anyone know of a good tire-hugger cuz from what i've seen, they are all just for looks and wouldn't block $hit.

Any successful undertail installers out their wanna contribute their $.02??? i will settle for $.01

    Thanks........

Yes, sticky tires will toss stones and chip your undertail and so will sand. There is just a narrow section of your exposed tire that poses the problem, most huggers will block  it although it doesnt much look like it.  That is why the hugger is so small,  most any tread not covered by the the hugger is not going to be at the right angle when thrown to hit the bike.

Check out my pics of my F4i. I have an undertail and before I got my hugger, I was chipping the hell out of my paint. But since I got the hugger, it has cut it down signifigantly. The hugger will block most but not all debris thrown but the rear tire.
